What Is Energy Psychotherapy?

Energy psychotherapy is the application and practice of vibrant energy-sensitive healing modalities being developed in the rapidly expanding field of "energy psychology."

What is Energy Psychology?

Energy psychology is based on the theory that traumatic memories and the negative beliefs, emotions and behaviors that often result from them are experienced as energy blocks in the human energy field. By introducing techniques and tools into therapy that help to restore balance to our energy field, many psychological and emotional problems often resolve rapidly and fully, never to return!

What kind of training does an Energy Psychotherapist have?

An energy psychotherapist has at least a Masters of Arts or Science in one of the related fields of psychology. He or she may also have a Ph.D. In addition, she will also have certification or licensure in energy-based modalities which are then integrated into the therapy process.

What are some examples of "energy-based modalities?"

Any modality that impacts the health of the acupuncture meridians, chakra system and related energy fields may be considered an energy-based modality. Some examples are Emotional Freedom Technique, Flower Essence Therapy, Reiki, and Eden Energy Medicine.

How is an Energy Psychotherapy Session different from traditional psychotherapy?

In many respects, the sessions are very similar. You meet with your therapist on a regular basis, discuss the nature of the problems you hope to resolve and decide on a course of action to reach your goals. The difference resides primarily in the choice of interventions used during the course of treatment.
